Ameesha Patel (pronounced [??mi??a p???e?l]; born Amisha Amit Patel on June 9, 1975) is an Indian actress and model who predominantly appears in Hindi films alongside few Telugu films. She made her acting debut with the romantic thriller blockbuster Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000).

Patel rose to prominence with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema,^[2] earning her a Filmfare Special Performance Award. She made her Telugu film debut with the successful Badri (2000).

Patel has also been part of successful films including Humraaz (2002), Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai (2002), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and Race 2 (2013).
